Catherine (Cathy)'s Story
After graduating and leaving RHAM in 1975 I went to college at ECSC in Willimantic, now know as ECSU. After college I worked for a number of years in banking and lending. I served for a short time on the Hebron Board of Education and as Registrar with Stephen Derby's ("72") father James until I moved to take another banking job in New Haven and married David, who was attending Yale Law School. We and live in CT.
My husband David and I have two sons who are grown and living elsewhere. One son is a lawyer and the other works in sports broadcasting. We now share our empty nest with our dog.

to raise our children, I directed my energies to caring for our family and also volunteer work. I eveutally ran for local elected office and served twelve years on our Board of Education and serving as Chairman for a number of thoses years. While on the Board of education I also served as a member of the Board of Directors for CABE - Connecticut Association of Boards of Education/ Following that work and thinking I would retired from public office I found myself on the local Board of Finance where I served two and a half years. I can now say that I have retired from this work and now am enjoying time for travel.
